Dried Echinacea Flower

These eccentric echinacea are lovingly grown here on our Vermont, USA property. Once harvested, the heads hung to dry in our greenhouse.

Echinacea work best on silk or wool fiber, but also come out just fine on cotton. They are organically grown, and safe to touch and dye with.

The amount of echinacea, or any natural dye, is based on the weight of what you are dyeing. This is known as the 'weight of fiber' or abbreviated WOF. The amount of dye stuff is expressed as a percentage of WOF. In the case of echinacea, the recommendation of 20% - 30% dried echinacea to WOF.
